Enrique back in 2001. When he still had his mole.
2011: no more mole, no more morals.
Let’s pretend you’re Enrique Iglesias’ girlfriend. Guys, pretend you’re his boyfriend.
Your relationship began in 2001, and the song “Hero” totally shows off how prefect a boyfriend he is.
“Would you dance, if I asked you to dance?
Would you run, and never look back?
Would you run, and never look back?
Would you cry, if you saw me crying?
And would you save my soul, tonight?”
And would you save my soul, tonight?”
He’s asking you questions, he’s showing an intense interest in you, and what your opinion of him would be if he actually showed his sensitive side. He’s looking for reassurance in your relationship. That’s just precious.
“Would you tremble, if I touched your lips?
Would you laugh? Oh please tell me this
Now would you die, for the one you love?
Hold me in your arms, tonight”
Would you laugh? Oh please tell me this
Now would you die, for the one you love?
Hold me in your arms, tonight”
“OMG HE SAID THE L WORD ITS SRS U GUYZ.” – you, to your friends.
“I can be your hero, baby
I can kiss away the pain
I will stand by you forever
You can take my breath away”
I can kiss away the pain
I will stand by you forever
You can take my breath away”
So at this point, you’re probably picking out your guest list for the wedding, deciding if you should have a chocolate wedding cake just to be different, etc. He did just say he’d stand by you forever.
“Am I in too deep? Have I lost my mind?
Well I don't care you're here, tonight”
Well I don't care you're here, tonight”
Wait, what? Enrique is having second thoughts? If he’s questioning himself, that means he’s questioning you. But he just asked if he could be your prince charming, your knight in shining armor, your hero.
Fast forward your relationship a couple years. His song “I Like It” shows a different side…
“Girl please excuse me
If I'm coming on too strong
But tonight is the night
We can really let go”
If I'm coming on too strong
But tonight is the night
We can really let go”
“My girlfriend is out of town
And I'm all alone
Your boyfriend is on vacation
And he doesn't have to know”
And I'm all alone
Your boyfriend is on vacation
And he doesn't have to know”
It’s pretty clear he wants to be a cheating whore. While also trying to persuade this other chick to engage in infidelity with him.
“Girl please excuse me
If I'm misbehaving, oh
I'm trying keep my hands off
But you're begging me for more”
If I'm misbehaving, oh
I'm trying keep my hands off
But you're begging me for more”
Wow, now he’s even trying to put the blame on the girl, like it’s her fault she’s so sluttilicious, he can’t stay away. I’m sure that’s along the lines of what he’s going to tell you so he doesn’t have to feel guilty.
Oh, look who else is in this song: Pitbull.
You know what they say about the company you keep…
Enrique continues with:
“Don't stop baby, don't stop baby
Just keep on shaking along
I won't stop baby, won't stop baby
Until you get enough”
Just keep on shaking along
I won't stop baby, won't stop baby
Until you get enough”
And there you have it. He’s not going to stop. He will continue to be a cheating sluthunter until you dump him. Sorry it didn’t work out.
Here’s the song he wrote for the skank he hooked up with that night:
Yes, that’s the real title, as opposed to the U.S. radio version “Tonight I’m Lovin’ You.” Love is for monogamous people.
Your knight in shining armor can’t be your hero, baby. Perhaps Dave Chappelle was
right in saying chivalry is dead.
right in saying chivalry is dead.
Little side note: “Hero” was written for his good friend Simon Baxendale. Guys, you might still have a chance!
I think that he turned into a cheating man when he became more American... Back then, when Hero was a new song, he was still singing in Spanish, now he is, as you point out, singing with PitBull... He was even more decent when he started, around 1998 and didn't talk to his dad, Julio.
ReplyDeleteHilarious. Can you believe that "Tonight I'm loving you" actually is "Tonight I'm fu*king you?" Yes. Enrique is officially a whore. Great post S-wizzle!
ReplyDelete"No more mole, no more morals"--that's freakin genius. I will never be able to listen to Enrique that same. Love it.
